In 2015 ECHO was awarded an Australian Government contract to deliver jobactive services as part of the AMES Consortium. This Consortium is made up of four jobactive organisations:

  •    AMES
  •    SkillsPlus
  •    ECHO Australia Inc
  •    Wesley Mission Victoria

The AMES Consortium is one of the largest jobactive Organisations to deliver services across all Employment regions in metropolitan Melbourne.

ECHO has the following sites that provide jobactive services:

  •    Narre Warren
  •    Cranbourne
  •    Ringwood
  •    Wantirna South
  •    Lilydale
  •    Greensborough
  •    Windsor

The main objective of jobactive is to promote stronger workforce participation.

ECHO provides assistance to job seekers and linking with employers to better target local needs and provide greater access to training, work experience and job opportunities.

Job Seeker

Initial Contact
When you register at ECHO you will receive a welcome pack prior to your first appointment via email.  If you require an interpreter or have special circumstances, or additional support requirements please advise us so we can arrange any special assistance.

Your appointment will be a one on one with our Work Broker who will work with you to customize an Employment Pathway Plan that will assist you in reaching your employment goals, tailored activities will be included in the plan to help you prepare for work and achieve employment goals.

Our teams are experienced and will provide you with advice and support throughout your employment journey understanding individual needs including any cultural and language. Our Work Brokers will identify:

  • Suitable employment opportunities
  • Training needs and support
  • Tailor your resume and focus on your strengths

At ECHO our Work Brokers will guide you through the job search process, providing you with support, advice, and knowledge.

Our Work Broker will ensure you receive:

  • Flexible servicing if you live in outlying areas or have specific needs
  • Appointment reminders
  • Sessions to connect you with an appropriated Work for the Dole activity
  • A WFD review and month phone contact

At ECHO, we run a Career Development Course that is available to all job seekers. The course covers four main areas:

  • Where to look for work
  • How to research the qualifications and training needed for particular jobs?
  • The importance of Resumé and Application Letters
  • How to prepare for interviews
  • Understanding Workplace expectations
  • Time management, routing and goal setting
  • Sense of team success and peer group support

Assistance into Work

Your Work Broker will ensure you have continual access to employment opportunities, providing you with:

  • Visible job vacancies and SMS alerts, job boards, electronic rolling displays in sites, emails
  • Links to job tips and resources through our Industry Relationship Officers
  • Opportunities to work with local training providers to enhance your skills
  • Work like WFD activities to enhance or re-skill improving your employability within industry
  • Access to tools and technology to assist you in finding your own employment

Once you’ve obtained employment ECHO will continue to provide advice and  support within the workplace.

Stream A job seekers will be provided access to tools and advice to assist you with finding a job, groups sessions and monthly phone contact will commence from 3 months.

All other job seekers will commence groups sessions immediately.
